Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement applies to both Henley Business School (www.henley.ac.uk) and the International Capital Market Association Centre (www.icmacentre.ac.uk) websites.

Both websites are run by Henley Business School. We want as many people as possible to be able to access and use these websites.

For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability (My Computer My Way).

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Henley Business School is committed to making the Henley Business School and ICMAC websites accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

The following non-compliance statement is correct for both the Henley Business School and ICMAC websites.

Non text content

Some images and components do not have a meaningful text alternative, so people using a screen reader cannot access the information. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.1.1 Non-text content.

We plan to add text alternatives for all images by December 2025. When we publish new content, we’ll make sure our use of images meets accessibility standards.

Colour contrast

There are some content with insufficient colour contrast. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criteria 1.4.3 Contrast (minimum) and 1.4.11 Non-text contrast.

We plan to amend all instances of colour contrast issues by December 2026.

Information hierarchy

Some pages on our website do not have the appropriate structure in place. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.

We plan to amend all instances of this issue by December 2026.

Resize text

At 200% zoom keyboard focus is not visible. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.4 Resize text.

We plan to amend all instances of resize text issues by December 2026.

Filtering information

There are issues with automatic filtering when typing on our filtration systems. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 3.2.2 On Input.

We plan to amend all instances of this issue by December 2026.

Interactive element minimum size or spacing

Some interactive elements do not meet minimum size or spacing requirements. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.5.8 Target Size Minimum.

We plan to amend all instances of interactive elements that do not meet minimum size or spacing requirements by December 2026.

Forms missing labels and tags

Some of our forms are run through iframes control through third-party plugins, over which we do not have complete control. The inline frames that house these forms currently do not have the appropriate tags. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value.

We plan to amend these instances by December 2026.

Visible label does not match accessible label

Some of the accordion components on some of our pages do not have matching visible and accessible labels. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.5.3 Label in name.

We plan to amend these instances by December 2026.

Navigation menu and accessing information

Our main navigation menu cannot be accessed by only using a keyboard. In addition, our live chat floating widget cannot be accessed via a keyboard. These fail WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.1.1 Keyboard.

In some pages, there is no way to skip the repeated content in the page header (for example, a ‘skip to main content’ option). This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.1 Bypass blocks.

Some of our link names are not descriptive enough. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.4 (Link Purpose in Context).

In some places, the keyboard focus is not visible. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.7 (focus visible).

We plan to amend these instances by December 2026.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

We will work to achieve and maintain WCAG 2.2 AA standards, but it is not always possible for all our content to be accessible. Where content doesn't appear to be fully accessible, please contact the web accessibility team at digital@henley.ac.uk.

Live video

We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

Online maps

Online maps and mapping services are exempt as long as essential information is provided in an accessible digital manner for maps intended for navigational use.

Historical content

News, blogs and other content: Our website contains press releases, blog posts and other archived content published prior to the accessibility regulation coming into force. These are exempt from the accessibility regulations.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We are committed to providing a fully accessible website that can be used by all. We are looking to have fixed many underlying technical issues with our site where possible by the end of the December 2026.

In addition, all website editors will undertake mandatory accessibility training as part of maintaining their access to the website Content Management System. This will be in place by December 2026.
