The aim of this informative session is to provide you with the facts about becoming a professionally accredited coach and/or Mentor. Plus outline the process that you need to follow.
In this factual session you will:
- learn about the eligibility and competency requirements needed
- review the application process to become an accredited coach and/or mentor
- identify the benefits of becoming an accredited coach and/ or mentor
- identify the various accreditation routes for individuals, coach training providers and team and programme managers in coaching and mentoring
Through reviewing the requirements, you will be able to decide whether to work towards gaining accreditation with your professional membership body and the most suitable pathway to follow.
Association for Coaching - Dr Declan Woods
Declan is a top team psychologist and CEO coach. He leads teamGenie®, a global consulting company specializing in designing, coaching, and developing teams.
Alongside this, he is Professor of Leadership Practice at King’s College London (KCL), and volunteers as the Global Head of Team Coaching Standards and Accreditation with the Association for Coaching (AC) for whom he created the industry standard in team coaching. He served on the AC’s global board for over 10 years and was made a Life Fellow for raising standards of coaching in organisations.
Prior to coaching, Declan worked as a Plc. MD, in global management consulting roles, and as a non-executive director (NED). He was decorated for leadership in HM. The Queen’s Honour’s List while serving as an Army Officer.
Declan is the author of several book chapters and articles in the leadership press and sits on the editorial board of an international coaching journal. He writes a regular column on coaching tricky teams and is the author of the acclaimed book, The Triumphant Team – a self-help book for leaders and their teams. Declan is the creator of the teamSalient® team effectiveness diagnostic tool.
Declan is the world’s first accredited Master Team Coach (MTC) and an accredited Master Coach (MEC). He was one of the BPS’ first Chartered Coaching Psychologists and is a registered Psychologist with the HCPC. He earned master’s degrees in psychology (Cambridge University), and change consulting (INSEAD, France), and an MBA (Warwick Business School). He holds a doctorate in applied psychology from Leicester University. He is a Fellow of the Association for Coaching (FAC), BPS (AFBPsS) and CIPD (Chartered FCIPD).
International Coaching Federation - Panos Malakoudis & Beth Hope
Beth and Panos joined the ICF board in 2022 as giving back to the coaching community is important to both of them. Panos brings more than 25 years of experience in technology, learning & development, and professional services consulting including more than 10 years in leadership roles in multinational corporations. He is currently leading the internal coaching think tank at a large multinational organisation. After working in hospitality and HR, Beth started her own coaching business in 2017 and has since worked with top executives across industries to help elicit change. She specialises in mindset work, facilitated by her masters in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health. Both Beth and Panos are passionate about furthering the coaching industry ethically and sustainably.
