Description

As a leader, people will instinctively assess your body language. First impressions are formed and biases can be confirmed (or challenged) long before what you are saying is considered. To show confidence in their communications, good leaders invest time into crafting communication that is meant to showcase their expertise – and therefore, their right to lead. Great leaders know that their content needs to be supplemented with body language that shows confidence, competence and credibility. They know that a failure to do this can lead people to question their content rather than inspire confidence in their communication.

This session will provide you with the body language tools to ‘look’ like a leader that others want to follow. Armed with these tools, and the confidence they inspire, you can ensure your clients, colleagues and peers come to the right conclusions about your credibility as a leader.

Learning outcomes

Leaders need to be able to communicate effectively in a range of situations, including when communicating in person or remotely, in 1-to-1 meetings, facilitating a conversation, or when presenting. Body Language for Leaders will help you:

  • Take charge and confidently set the scene in presentations.
  • Enhance your credibility by displaying confident gestures when communicating.
  • Maintain focus in meetings by setting visual agendas through gesture.
  • Facilitate a positive flow and control of conversations in meetings.
  • Build relationships by demonstrating you are listening through body language.
  • Engage people when communicating remotely through body language.
  • Ensure key messages are understood by effective use of emphasis gestures.
  • Demonstrate the strength of your conviction through gesture.

Who this is for:

  • Leaders with responsibility for influencing their teams, colleagues and customers.
  • Leaders who understand that their personal and team success is partially built on their ability to engage, motivate and inspire others.
  • Leaders who want to be effective in every environment – presenting, running meetings, etc.
  • Leaders who want to know how to use their body language across a range of leadership situations and environments.
  • Those who aspire to more senior leadership positions.
