Description
Do you have the power to capture your audience and convince other people about your ideas? Do you have the credibility that invites others to engage in dialogue to reach a good outcome? Can you influence others when the stakes are high?
As a leader or manager, you need to be able to influence others irrespective of their status, experience or expertise. Successful influencing requires the conscious application of key skills in communication and making an impact to get things done.
In this experiential workshop, you will learn about the sources of organisational power, the different styles of influencing at your disposal and understand which style is most suited to different types of people and situations. You will also have the opportunity to practise these skills in real influencing situations and to receive feedback from your colleagues.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this session, you will:
- understand the dynamics of effective communication
- be able to identify the different sources of power used to influence others
- have experience of exploring each of the four different styles of influencing and communicating
- have practiced real critical conversations, and will have learned what works and what doesn’t
Who is this for
This workshop is aimed at managers who need to influence their peers, senior managers, internal or external stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
