Bio:
Andrew work for the Royal Berkshire Hospital in the Information Management & Technology (IM&T) department as EPR Projects Delivery Manager. The hospital is moving towards being what the NHS term a "digitally mature hospital" where we do as much of our patient care without the use of paper, moving our patient records to a large central Electronic Patient Record (EPR). Care for patients starts with their records but then may need to be referred to specialist departments, running specialist computer systems, for example Radiology have systems that manage MRI and CT Scans as well as X-Rays and other imaging. Andrew’s role is to ensure that these specialist systems are correctly specified, configured and talking to the central patient record.
Abstract:
Andrew will talk about how the IM&T department is helping to support the long term strategies of:
- Improving the patient experience
- Extending patient care to their home
- Using technology to innovate
- Support long term financial stability
- Improve the hospital staff environment
