Bio:
Andrew is a ‘seasoned’ IT and Informatics professional with 30 years’ experience in the UK and Europe across private, public and charities sectors. An independent consultant for over 20 years, he blends clinical, technical and informatics skills allowing him to rapidly understand and solve complex issues.
Andrew brings experience from working with over 40 NHS Trusts and their suppliers to his current role at Royal Berkshire where he is responsible for the management and development of Business Systems and Data Warehousing.
With a clinical background he is committed to improving direct patient care through the effective use of technology and considers the current era of data explosion and advancing analytics to be one of the most exciting times to achieve that.
Abstract:
The lecture will consider the role that technical systems play in improving patient care and performance of the organisations involved.
We will look at technology platforms and complex data flows that are the foundations of intelligent patient information.
Lastly we will look at the journey that Healthcare systems have taken to current date and how that is reflected on the ground at Royal Berkshire as well as considering what the immediate and longer-term future may look like.
