The Academy of Management is the preeminent professional association for management and organisation scholars with a global community of over 20,000 academics and practitioners; as such, its Annual Meeting is one of the most important events for management scholars.

Irene and David, along with Professor Kevin Money, undertook research examining sustainable living through a lens of identity expression and motivational drives. The research project explores how individuals express their identities through sustainable living, and examines what motivates them to live sustainably.

The findings provide insights into the interplay between identity expression and motivational drives in sustainable living, whilst also showing that individuals may express their identities through sustainable living in differing ways, depending on personal or social identity salience and motivational drives.

Dr. Irene Garnelo-Gomez said:

“Presenting our research at AoM19 has been a great opportunity. We have been able to share the work we do at the John Madejski Centre for Reputation with leading academics in the field"
