Celebrating the life and legacy of Professor Andrew Kakabadse

Andrew Kakabadse MLP 9022

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Professor Andrew Kakabadse, Professor of Governance and Leadership at Henley Business School, who died after a short illness.

Highly regarded and respected internationally, Andrew was a truly distinguished scholar who made an enduring mark both at Henley and across the world. He worked tirelessly in many global contexts - consulting, researching and lecturing. He also held visiting positions with Macquarie University (Australia), the Center for Creative Leadership (USA) and Université Paris II Pantheon-Assas (France).

Devoted to the learning and development of directors, boards and top teams globally, Andrew advised governments around the world, led studies with over 20,000 international organisations, and published an extraordinary body of work including more than 270 scholarly articles and 48 books.

His intellectual contributions were matched only by his humanity, integrity, and generosity of spirit. Andrew was not only a respected academic and advisor to many global organisations, but he was a friend, a mentor, and an inspiring colleague to so many of us. His commitment to excellence, his thoughtfulness in conversation, and his deeply global outlook shaped our business school in ways that will resonate for years to come.

For those of us who had the privilege of working alongside him, we will always remember Andrew not just for his remarkable achievements, but for the warmth, wisdom, and kindness he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed by us all.

Our thoughts are with his beloved wife, our colleague Professor Nada Kakabadse, and their family.
