Dr Ali Qassin Jawad

In his current capacity, as a Senior Advisor to the Diwan of Royal Court in Oman, as well as Head of the Diwan s Think Tank Unit ( Dr Jawad spearheads a number of key strategic initiatives which underpin the Diwan s policy and decision making related to the country s socio economic development Previously, Dr Jawad held key positions leading and advising on strategic initiatives and programmes in the public sector across the Middle East Highlights included overseeing a government s economic reform agenda, developing a national innovation policy, as well as establishing a national competitiveness office His private sector experience includes working with leading consulting firms, including Booz Allen Hamilton ( and PA Consulting ( on a variety of multi disciplinary projects, ranging from strategy development to implementation design.

Government and Private Sector Engagement
Aware that Oman needs to hasten its transition from government led development to a system where the private sector plays a key role, as well as from a legacy industry based to a digitalised economy, Dr Jawad has played a transformative role in bringing together the government and the private sector under a national Public Private Partnership Task Force Sharakah a ministerial level initiative established under the direction of His Majesty the late Sultan Qaboos of Oman with the specific objective of strengthening dialogue and collaboration between the two sectors Highlights include overseeing policy initiatives related to enhancing the country s business and investment environment, reforming the legislative framework to support Public Private Partnerships projects, identifying initiatives to bridge the skills gap in the labour market, and advising on institutional governance conducive to advancing the country s investment climate.

He is also the Chairman of the Oman Business Forum, a platform to foster public and private sector leaders engagement in tackling Oman s key economic issues.

In November 2015 His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said conferred the Oman Civil Order on Dr Jawad in recognition of his contributions In June 2020 His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq also conferred the Oman Civil Order on Dr Jawad in recognition of his contributions.

Additionally, in 2020 the Business Ecology Alliance granted Dr Ali the Zero Distance Award as a recognition for his efforts in leading the Think Tank Unit at the Diwan of the Royal Court in Oman for its driving force of transformation and brining together the public sector, private sector and citizens.
