Specialisms
Karen is an experienced executive coach and the founder of Future Perfect, an independent business, lifestyle and health coaching practice. Her early career began in retail (M&S) in the late 80s followed by several years with a global outsourcing/offshoring company where she specialised in leading complex change projects within professional services across EMEA.
Her time in business taught her about the importance of culture, relationships and trust which remains a vital part of the work she does today. Karen retrained as a coach with Henley in 2012 where she remains an active member of coaching faculty, contributing to several of the school’s executive education programmes.
Her work is multi sector supporting clients and their teams up to and including C-Suite. As a team coach she is particularly interested in the interplay between group dynamics and team effectiveness. Guided by collective enquiry, she offers leaders the opportunity to create the conditions to work through organisational challenges respectfully, resourcing those taking part to resolve conflict, improve decision making and make real progress.
These methods feature in two coaching handbooks published in 2021 and 2023: a Henley collaboration with more than one hundred coaches worldwide.
Karen’s interest in human health is devoted to improving psychological and physical wellbeing through our relationship with food, weight and body image. She is a certified eating disorders practitioner, award marker and member of the clinical team at the National Centre for Eating Disorders (UK). She coaches systemically, blending approaches from the worlds of coaching and therapy.
Karen is a practising Executive Coach with APECS and in regular supervision.
