Dr Ling Zhang is a Visiting Researcher of the Centre for Euro-Asian Studies at Henley Business School.
With years of interdisciplinary research experience in industrial economics, corporate innovation, digital economics, green development and the Belt and Road, Ling's academic interests also span climate response, spatial analysis, digital transformation and development. She earned her PhD in Land Resources Management from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in June 2017 alongside her PhD studies in Hydrology at Texas Agricultural and Mechanical University, USA. She completed postdoctoral research in Applied Economics in July 2019 at Peking University, China.
Ling has led projects funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the China Association for Science and Technology's Youth Project of High-End Scientific and Technological Innovation Think-Tank and the Innovation Strategy Research Institute of the China Association for Science and Technology. She has worked on national and provincial research initiatives, including those supported by the National Science and Technology Support Project and the Ministry of Education's Philosophical and Social Science Research program, and engaged in research with Beijing Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and government bodies such as the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform and the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau. International academic journals including Hydrological Processes, CATENA, Eurasian Geography and Economics, Growth and Change and Natural Hazards have featured her research.
