Nicholas Berin Chan is an Informatics and System Science PhD student in BISA working on “Contextualising Explainable Artificial Intelligence in Outpatient Attendance Management”.
Nicholas Berin Chan is a PhD student in Informatics and System Science at the Informatics Research Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading. Inspired by working on various healthcare-related data science projects at the Big Data Decision Analytics Research Centre, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, he developed a strong research interest in Explainable Artificial Intelligence and proceeded to obtain his MSc by Research degree at the University of Reading. He is currently working with Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust as a healthcare data scientist on multiple projects to improve patient care. His work with the Trust has been shortlisted as a finalist for the University of Reading Research Engagement and Impact Awards 2022 as well as the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Patient Safety Awards 2022 under the Digital System and Process Development stream in the UK.
