Location
Ren received her PhD in Real Estate and Urban Economics from the University of Hong Kong in 2021. She examined how and why housing prices can appreciate or depreciate at different rates across locations of one city during the same market cycles. Her work won the Best Manuscript Award by the American Real Estate Society (2021), the Best Presentation Award by the International Real Estate Society (2020), and Postgraduate Scholarship by the Pacific Rim Real Estate Society (2020).
Before joining Henley in 2022, Ren was a Research Fellow in the Department of Economics, Royal Holloway, University of London. The project she was involved in was about specifications of spatial models and policy evaluation relating to the housing market.
Her research interests include real estate markets and policies, spatial models and corporate finance. In terms of practical knowledge, Ren is specialized in real estate investment and appraisal. She worked as a real estate investment analyst/manager for major developers in China from 2011 to 2017. It is also her field of teaching when she gained teaching experience at the University of Hong Kong from 2018 to 2021.
