As well as our AMBA accreditation, we were delighted to receive a 'Milestone Award' to mark our 70th Anniversary at the AMBA Global Conference 2016. The award is given to business schools celebrating a special anniversary and recognises the continued success of AMBA-accredited institutions.

• EQUIS assesses institutions as a whole. It assesses not just degree programmes but all the activities and sub-units of the institution, including research, e-learning units, executive education provision and community outreach. Institutions must be primarily devoted to management education.
• EQUIS looks for a balance between high academic quality and the professional relevance provided by close interaction with the corporate world.
• Institutions that are accredited by EQUIS must demonstrate not only high general quality in all dimensions of their activities, but also a high degree of internationalisation

The AACSB Accreditation Standards challenge post-secondary educators to pursue excellence and continuous improvement throughout their business programs.

The accreditation process is a comprehensive review of a school’s mission, faculty qualifications, and curricula, and the process includes self-evaluations, peer-reviews, committee reviews, and the development of in-depth strategic plans. Accreditation ensures that students are learning material most relevant to their field of study, preparing them to be effective leaders upon graduation.

In its assessment the Athena SWAN judging panel praised Henley’s submission, noting a number of actions the Business School has taken to ensure a more inclusive place to work and study, in particular:

• the establishment of an institution-wide staff engagement initiative which enabled fundamental changes to working practices from staff induction to wellbeing and communication
• staff training on how to identify and encourage potential promotion candidates
• recent success with academic promotion in the last few years with more women than men being put forward, helping to build gender balance at professorial level
• the introduction of mentoring for professional service staff
• initiatives regarding student recruitment
• Henley Women in Leadership events which champion women’s issues internally and externally
• Henley’s partnership with the FT and 30% Club to offer Women in Leadership MBA scholarships, now in its eighth year.

Working through Six Principles, PRME engages business and management schools to ensure they provide future leaders with the skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals, while drawing attention to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact.

As a voluntary initiative with over 800 signatories worldwide, PRME has become the largest organised relationship between the United Nations and management-related higher education institutions.
