Abstract:
In this talk, Dr Chris Golding will discuss his research on how emotion shapes the processes and outcomes of strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Dr Golding's work examines how both experienced and expressed emotion can influence the decisions, interactions, and outcomes that drive innovation and change within organizations. Using qualitative methods, he explores how leaders and teams navigate tension, uncertainty, and opportunity, and how these experiences affect whether novel ideas and directions are accepted or rejected. Dr Golding will share insights from ongoing projects and reflect on what it means to view strategy, innovation, and entrepreneurship as emotional—rather than purely rational—processes.
