Description

Former CIA officer turned CEO Rupal Patel draws on the unique skills and techniques she developed during her high-stakes career at the CIA and through her experiences as a CEO and corporate advisor to offer unconventional insights on how to tackle timeless leadership challenges. This high-impact workshop will show participants how to embed agile thinking into their leadership style and into their organizations to unlock high performance, create opportunity out of uncertainty, and adapt quickly when the 'mission' goes wrong. Full of interactive exercises, tangible takeaways, and powerful new frameworks, this session will arm participants with an actionable toolkit that will enable them to leverage the CIA mindset to make the seemingly impossible possible and meet today’s challenges with confidence and clarity.

Learning Outcomes

How to use and train the five agility levers to become a (more) agile leader and decision-maker

  • Deploying T.R.A.C.E.(TM) to turn uncertainty into tangible opportunity, and separate "signal" from "noise".
  • Leveraging Learning LeaderTM frameworks to maintain high-performance under uncertainty and pressure, whether internal (within the leader/team/organization) or external (within the industry/economy).
  • Preventing decision-fatigue and burnout via the 3Ps (Personas, Profiles, and PEM).

Who is this for

  • Leaders who are ready to challenge ‘old school’ thinking around leadership and how it works.
  • Leaders who are challenged to sort ‘the wood from the trees’ and lead with skill and agility.
  • Those who need to get clarity and focus to create high performance in their teams.

Rupal Patel’s high-octane career has taken her from military briefing rooms in jungles and war zones to corporate boardrooms and international stages. During her thrilling career as an analyst and field agent at the CIA, she served in active war zones, advised commanding generals, and earned service medals and meritorious citations for ‘exceptional performance of duty’ and ‘superior support to the President of the United States.’

After leaving the CIA, Rupal earned an MBA degree from London Business School and started her first award-winning business. Named a ‘power woman’ by Harper’s Bazaar magazine, she is a sought-after international speaker who has worked with top-tier organisations like Accenture, SAP and Virgin. Rupal’s keynotes and masterclasses are tailored to meet the needs of her audience – a skill honed at the CIA, where she briefed everyone from ground force ‘grunts’ to high-level dignitaries, and expanded through her work with executives across the globe.

Rupal’s book, From CIA to CEO (2022), provides a powerful toolkit for living and leading that reveals how the techniques of the CIA can help anyone thrive in the world of business and unleash personal excellence without conforming to stale stereotypes or dated best practice.

As a sitting CEO, author, consultant, coach and mentor, Rupal works to help visionary leaders, teams and organisations; her approach marries industry-leading theory with tactical experience in a way that transforms the clients she works with. Her client-focused design and delivery is powerful and impactful, and her truly unique insights arm her audiences with the tools they need to remake the rules of success and become unstoppable.
