Abstract
The use of deepfakes in screen media is developing very rapidly, with transformations of working practices and creative techniques already underway in early-adopter businesses. For the screen industries, the development brings considerable advantages (creative opportunities, accelerated workflows) and major challenges (abuse of the processes through lack of regulation, loss of audience trust, changes in the nature of creative work). This 15-minute presentation will outline the issues and the areas of enquiry developing in UoR’s nascent interdisciplinary research network.
