The Reading Real Estate Finance and Investment Consortium is an in-person event for UK and European researchers working in real estate finance and its interdisciplinary fields. It aims to strengthen the research culture by providing developmental support for early-career academics and PhD students, fostering new research ideas, and connecting Reading’s local research community with wider research networks.
The programme will feature six to eight high-quality unpublished papers by early-career academics and PhD students, each paired with a formal discussant and extended discussion session to ensure in-depth, constructive feedback.
The consortium aims to showcase novel research and bring together scholars with shared interests to enhance networking, intellectual exchange, and interdisciplinary collaboration across areas such as finance, economics, urban studies, and data science. By connecting researchers within the University and with external scholars, the event will help build sustainable research networks and collaborative opportunities in real estate finance and investment.
A keynote speaker will be invited, subject to his or her availability. Contributions addressing emerging themes, such as climate risk in property markets, ESG in real estate investment, machine learning applications in housing and commercial real estate, and real estate tokenisation, are particularly encouraged. Early-career researchers are defined as those within eight years of their PhD award (or equivalent), although other relevant circumstances may also be considered.
Venue: G10, Henley Business School, University of Reading, Whiteknights Campus, RG6 6UD
