As a renowned scholar in management and corporate governance, Professor McNulty's work bridges academic rigour with practical, actionable insights for contemporary board governance. He is able to leverage years of senior leadership and research excellence to advise, collaborate on key strategic initiatives and contribute to executive learning.
The topic of this presentation is 'Researching Boards and Directors: Reflections and Directions'. This seminar will explore a variety of studies on boards and directors conducted between 1992 and 2026, addressing challenges facing governance researchers and practitioners. It will also unpack matters of research method, theory and impact that delve deeper into processes and relationships that are essential for board and governance effectiveness. There will be scope to reflect on the governance of publicly listed and privately owned entities within and beyond the UK.
After the seminar has concluded, Professor McNulty will lead an expert session workshop, titled 'Reimagining Governance Pedagogy Through Virtual Reality'. This workshop draws from Professor McNulty's research with the Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD).
The seminar is for an internal audience and will be held on 29 October 2026, 1:00pm, in room LG01 of the Henley Business School building, Whiteknights campus.
