Description
The world is moving faster than human evolution, and, as the world changes, so do the rules. The game of life’s difficult enough, but if you’re playing by the old rules, you’re accidentally opening yourself up to a whole load of problems.
To do more than survive – to thrive and inspire – you need to be able to flourish in this superfast world.
Shift Happens drills down into positive psychology and the science of human flourishing. Whereas traditional training is additive – giving you more things to remember and do – Shift Happens is subtractive. You don’t need more stuff on your mind, you need less! The process is built around two facts and a Greek word:
- You are amazing and you possess all the inner resources you ever need.
- The modern world is really good at making you forget fact 1. It’s super-efficient at grinding you down.
Metanoia is a Greek word that means a change of mind – a reorientation, a fundamental transformation of outlook. Shift Happens facilitates metanoia – it changes everything, starting with you.

Andy specialises in positive psychology and the science of human flourishing. His mission is to change the narrative and re-focus psychology away from what’s wrong with people to what’s right. His messages act as a gentle nudge towards people taking charge of their own mental health.
Described by his mother as ‘not even the best writer in this family’, Andy has somehow managed to become a best-selling author. He has written The Art of Being Brilliant, Shine and The Little Book of Emotional Intelligence, as well as the award-winning children’s series, ‘Spy Dog’.
