Angela Garcia Calvo is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at the Henley Business School, University of Reading.

Angela's research focuses on comparative political economy, industrial transformation, business policy, globalization, and the intersection of the above themes. She explores the interconnections between her topics in her book State-Firm Coordination and Upgrading (Oxford University Press, 2021).

She has consulted for the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the UK Department for Business Innovation and Skills, and the Spanish Economic office on issues regarding economic regulation, telecommunications policy, and international trade. Dr Garcia Calvo’s academic work has been published by Review of International Political Economy, Business and Public Policy, and the Journal of Economic Policy Reform. She has held visiting positions at the London School of Economics, Harvard University, UC San Diego, Yonsei University, and the Collegio Carlo Alberto in Torino.
