Hannes Sildnik is a Henley Business School PhD student in the department of Leadership, Organisations, Behaviour and Reputation.
His research explores the use of self in coaching, covering its conceptual foundations, development and implications for coaching practice, building on more than 600 hours of professional coaching experience and a 20-year career spanning management consulting, organisational change and leadership development across the private and public sectors. Hannes' wider research interests include leadership coaching and mentoring, psychological perspectives of the self, coaching and mentoring skills, professional development and reflective practice.
His academic background includes postgraduate degrees in PGDipl Coaching and Mentoring from Sheffield Hallam University in 2020 and MA Teaching and Learning in Higher and Professional Education from University College London in 2017. Prior to that, Hannes completed an MA in European Studies and a BSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Tartu, Estonia.
Hannes has been awarded a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, bringing together academic inquiry and real-world practice to deepen understanding of the reflective, relational dimensions of coaching. He is also a European Mentoring and Coaching Council Senior Practitioner.
