Julia is a visiting tutor for the Henley Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching, Professional Certificate in Coaching Supervision and MSc in Coaching for Behavioural Change. She is an accredited Master Practitioner Coach with the EMCC, a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) with the ICF and an accredited coaching supervisor (EMCC). Alongside her role at Henley, she runs her own coaching and coaching supervision practice. Her practice is built around coaching for insight and change through self-awareness, drawing on her PhD research exploring self-awareness in the role of the development of the executive coach. She is the author of the book “You Are Not As Self-Aware As You Think”.
As a practitioner with an academic underpinning, Julia is deeply passionate about supporting leaders and coaches to understand all aspects of themselves to truly foster self-connection and connection with others.
Julia was born and brought up in Cornwall and “made in the Royal Navy”, and following a successful progressive career as a Royal Naval Officer, a management consultant specialising in assessment and development and a short spell in the Civil Service she started her own business in 2008 specialising in leadership, learning and development.
She is committed to her own ongoing development of self-awareness and invests in regular coaching supervision (both individual and group) and believes that continual work on self keeps her at her very best. Outside of work, her focus is on family – enjoying the outdoors with the dogs and supporting her son with his burgeoning eventing career.
