Digital Transformation Framework Inspired by Organisational Semiotics: An Analysis Based on a Chinese SOE Manufacturer
This research examines digital transformation in a Chinese state-owned manufacturing enterprise through the lens of Organisational Semiotics and the Organisational Onion Model. It explores how technical systems, formal business processes and informal organisational factors such as strategy and culture interact during digital transformation. The study proposes an alignment framework covering top-down transformation, conflict and compromise, bottom-up strategic evolution and long-term strategic alignment, with particular attention to data-driven decision-making, AI, IoT, big data analytics, business process redesign and digital culture.
