The 2020 CIPD Good Work Index (CIPD)

This project presents the CIPD Good Work Index, the CIPD’s annual benchmark of good work or job quality in the UK. The CIPD Good Work Index draws together valuable insight into jobs and people’s experience of work, informing the actions of workers, employers and policy makers to help make work a force for good for everyone.

The Index measures a wide range of aspects of job quality, including employment essentials, such as pay and contracts, the day-to-day realities of work as experienced by workers themselves, and the impacts on people’s health and wellbeing.

This project was conducted just before the COVID-19 pandemic and gives a snapshot of the UK jobs market at this important juncture.
