Fast‑track your career with a global employer while still finishing your degree

This is your chance with Allianz to earn a salary, gain two years of professional experience, and achieve two recognised qualifications – all before you leave university.

An exciting new option

Allows eligible students to convert the final two years of their BSc Business Management degree into a Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) | BA (Hons) in Management Practice. It's still delivered by Henley, but it's delivered as part of a paid apprenticeship with Allianz.

The ideal pathway If you want to:
  • move into management or leadership roles early
  • gain professional experience while finishing your degree
  • avoid the financial pressure of full-time study in Years 3 and 4
  • join a globally recognised employer with clear progression routes
  • differentiate yourself from traditional graduates

How the Allianz 2+2 with Henley works

Designed for students who want to master the fundamentals of business management and gain paid workplace experience before graduating.

Years 1 and 2 as a Henley Undergraduate

You will have successfully completed the first year of your Henley BSc Business and Management Degree and now be in your second year, possibly looking to do a placement in your third year.

While studying full-time, you will have mastered the fundamentals of marketing, HRM, accounting, data analytics, operations and strategy.

Years 3 and 4 as an Allianz Apprentice

From the beginning of Year 3, you'll be a Chartered Manager Degree Apprentice at Allianz. This means you'll:

  • become a paid, full-time employee at Allianz and
  • study part-time with Henley to complete the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship | BA (Hons) in Management Practice.

This 2+2 model really gives you the best of both worlds. Earning a full-time salary, gaining real experience and responsibility, while also continuing your academic development with Henley.

Earn while you learn at Allianz

As one of the world’s leading financial services organisations, Allianz is well placed to deliver high-impact professional development.

Learning part-time

While being an apprentice, you will study part-time. Each module you undertake will be taught using a blended learning approach, combining an in-person full-day workshop at either the Whiteknights Campus or London Road Campus with additional online learning. Allianz will also ensure you can access relevant projects for the modules you're studying, so you can directly apply your learning.

As you progress

You’ll take on real responsibility and build the skills employers look for in future managers and leaders, such as:

  • digital and data-driven operations
  • responsible and ethical business
  • leadership and people management
  • organisational behaviour
  • strategy
  • project management

You’ll be trusted, supported, and actively contributing to meaningful work.

Support from Allianz

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll have a dedicated line manager who will know you’re an apprentice and will help you balance your work and study.

Assessment and Awards

There are no exams. Assessment is through applied projects, reports, portfolios and presentations.

Graduate with two major qualifications at the end of Year 4.

Instead of the BSc Business Management, you will graduate with:

  • a BA (Hons) in Management Practice
  • the Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship
Additional achievement options

Through the CMI (Chartered Management Institute) which is the end-point assessment (EPA) organisation, you may also achieve:

  • a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership
  • Chartered Manager status (on successful EPA)
  • CMI student membership (programme duration plus three months, with option for individuals to pay full membership thereafter).

How to apply

This apprenticeship is only available to students who have the legal right to live and work in the UK (who reside in England) and who are not on a student visa. Additionally, if you have already secured a placement for the 2026/27 academic year, you will not be eligible to apply for this opportunity.

Next steps

You will be asked to speak to one of our Careers Consultants, who will offer support as you prepare your CV and application. Allianz will then reach out to all those who apply at the beginning of March to start their recruitment process.

Successful applicants will begin their paid apprenticeship in September 2026.
