Henley’s Commitment to Responsible Business Education
Henley’s commitment to sustainable and responsible management education is demonstrated by our active involvement with the UN Principles of Responsible Management Education, aiming to support future business leaders to drive positive change.

Commitment to Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME)
Our commitment to responsible business education is embodied by our status as an Advanced Signatory of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), which we first joined in 2013.
The aim of PRME is to raise the profile of sustainability in business and management education, and to equip today's business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow.
PRME adheres to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and is a voluntary initiative with hundreds of signatories, which has become the UNs largest higher education-specific relationship.
Henley’s membership of PRME reflects our commitment to continuous improvement in business practices and education focused on shaping a sustainable and just world of business, and to demonstrating leadership in responsible management education in the context of the UN sustainable development agenda.
We are also actively involved in the UK and Ireland Chapter of PRME and also in the London and South-East PRME local network.
PRME's seven principles
As an Advanced Signatory, we commit to uphold PRMEs Seven Principles which focus on serving society and safeguarding our planet:
- Purpose: We advance responsible management education to foster inclusive prosperity in a world of thriving ecosystems
- Values: We place organisational responsibility and accountability to society and the planet at the core of what we do
- Teach: We transform our learning environments by integrating responsible management concepts and practices into our curriculum and pedagogy
- Research: We study people, organisations, institutions, and the state of the world to inspire responsible management and education practice
- Partner: We engage people from business, government, civil society, and academia to advance responsible and accountable management education and practice
- Practice: We adopt responsible and accountable management principles in our own governance and operations
- Share: We share our successes and failures with each other to enable our collective learning and best live our common values and purpose
Our latest PRME reports
A core commitment of all PRME signatories is the regular publication of a Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) report, which demonstrates our efforts to implement the PRME Principles.
Until 2023, SIP reports were submitted every two years but from 2024 onwards, these have become an annual initiative.
As part of our SIP report Professor Elena B. Spasova, Henley’s Dean, writes a formal Letter of Commitment to PRME and its Principles. Read the Dean's latest letter here.
Henley Responsible Business Education Progress Report
In 2025 we published our first ever Henley Responsible Business Education Progress Report for 2024-25, which provides key information and insights from our staff.
Reflecting our commitment to continuous improvement and self-reflection, we have sought to showcase our successes, whilst also identifying areas for development.
