BAFA South-East Area Group 2025 Annual Conference
The organising committee of the BAFA–SEAG is pleased to announce its annual conference will be hosted by Henley Centre for Accounting Regulation and Practice (HARP), Department of Finance and Accounting, Henley Business School, University of Reading on Friday, 6 June 2025. The theme of the conference is ‘Digitalisation and Sustainability in Accounting and Finance’.
Confirmed speakers at the conference are:
• Amir Amel-Zadeh, Associate Professor of Accounting at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. His research focuses on the impact of financial and non-financial disclosures on capital markets.

• Alnoor Bhimani, Professor of Management Accounting at London School of Economics (LSE) and the Founding Director of LSE Entrepreneurship. His research focuses on management accounting in the digital economy, tech entrepreneurship, and global governance.

• Maria Correia, Professor of Accounting at London School of Economics (LSE). Her research focuses on credit markets, default prediction, business groups, and corporate governance.

• Elroy Dimson, Professor of Finance at Judge Business School and Chairman of the Centre for Endowment Asset Management, University of Cambridge. His research spans long-horizon investment, endowment strategy, and financial history.

• Lisa Jack, Professor of Accounting at the University of Portsmouth and Co-Editor of the British Accounting Review. She specializes in accounting practices in the agri-food industry, forensic accounting, and the use of theory in qualitative research.

• Oumesh Sauba, CIMA’s Member in Practice Committee with AICPA-CIMA qualifications. He specializes in financial and management accounts, taxes, and has a keen interest in AI and Machine Learning.

Alongside the invited speakers’ presentations, there will be an opportunity for scholars to present their working papers in a poster session. The final decision about the selection of the poster presentations will be made by the BAFA-SEAG executive committee.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
We invite submissions addressing research questions in all areas of Accounting and Finance. There is no preference to any particular methodology or topic. We especially encourage PhD researchers to submit an extended abstract (no more than five pages) of their ‘job market’ papers. Send the abstract along with a title page including names of authors and affiliation to Dr. Xianmin Liu (xl8349b@gre.ac.uk), with “BAFA SEAG 2025” in the subject of your email.
