On the back of the launch of their new books Karen Foy, Dr Julia Carden, and Jane Moffett will be running this exciting day on Friday 17th October. The day will include input and insights from their research, small group and pair work, as well as opportunities for networking and re-connecting; and of course opportunities to talk to Karen, Julia and Jane about their books and writing.

On the back of the launch of their new books Karen Foy (Breaking the Coaching Code: How Great Coaches Transcend the Rules); Dr Julia Carden (You Are Not As Self-Aware As You Think You Are) and Jane Moffett (What Next? The savvy woman’s guide to redefining retirement) will be running this exciting day on Friday 17th October. The day will include input and insights from their research, small group and pairs work as well as opportunities for networking and re-connecting; and of course opportunities to talk to Karen, Julia & Jane about their books and writing.

Karen’s session will explore the myths and beliefs we can fall into practicing as true in our coaching practice, and how we might think about our practice in a new way.

11:00: Self Awareness - A Route to Yourself, with Julia Carden
Julia’s session will explore why we need to develop self-awareness to work with uncertainty.
12:00: What to do Once you Have Found Yourself, with Jane Moffett
Jane will present research on the impact of coaching during the transition to retirement; the impact of using group coaching; and introduce the Schlossberg 4s Transition Model.

Accreditation: We are in the process of applying for CCEU with the ICF. We anticipate this event will come with 4 CCEU's (2 hours core competency units, 2 hours resource development).
Karen Foy

Karen Foy is an Honorary Fellow of Henley Business School, as well as an International Coaching Federation Master Certified Coach, a Professional Coach Supervisor and Mentor.
She holds an MSc in Coaching Psychology from the University of East London and a degree in psychology from the University of Sheffield. Karen recently retired as Director of Accredited Coaching Programmes at Henley Business School, but continues to teach as a visiting tutor.
She has contributed to large leadership and coaching programmes designed to build internal coaching capacity in global organisations. As an executive coach, she provides coaching to support executive board teams and individuals in complex organisations to navigate their way through a constantly changing environment, whilst keeping a firm focus on well-being and compassion in the workplace.
Julia Carden

Julia is a visiting tutor for the Henley Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching, Professional Certificate in Coaching Supervision and MSc in Coaching for Behavioural Change. She is an accredited Master Practitioner Coach with the EMCC, a Professional Certified Coach with the ICF and an accredited coaching supervisor. Julia spent the first 10 years of her career as an officer in the Royal Navy, after which she specialized in assessment and development centre work, alongside learning and development. Julia runs her own coaching and supervision practice, working with leaders from across the public and private sectors. Her special area of interest is self-awareness and how to understand all aspects of identity; this sees her work focusing on self-awareness, so that individuals have more choice and develop self-acceptance to be more effective leaders and contentment with who they are as a person. Julia has recently completed her PhD research exploring the role of self-awareness in the development of the coach.
Julia completed the Henley MSc in Executive Coaching and Behavioural Change in 2014. Alongside her PhD and MSc she is a NLP Master Practitioner, an accredited Time to Think Coach, a Fellow of the CIPD, and is licensed to use MBTI, Lumina Spark, OPQ and 16PF. Julia draws on a wide range of psychological dimensions in her coaching work; including the Time to Think, Gestalt and psychodynamic approaches. She is passionate about her own CPD and enjoys the challenge and reflection her regular supervision brings.
Outside of work Julia enjoys spending time with her husband and supporting her son in his budding eventing career.
Jane Moffett

Jane provides services to Henley Business School, leading the assessing team on all the coaching programmes. She completed the MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change at Henley in 2017, and is a qualified action learning coach.
An executive coach, facilitator, researcher and writer Jane has 30 years’
experience of working with people at key points of change in their lives where the personal and professional intersect including being a new parent employee, and people who are exploring the next stage of their lives after their main career. Running her own company, she has worked across a range of organisations including in the legal, consultancy, engineering, arts and charity sectors, delivering 1:1 coaching and interactive group coaching workshops. She employs a universal eclectic model of executive coaching, relational coaching and the World Action Learning approach to team coaching. She places the client at the centre of her work and combines careul listening, gentle challenge and the use of powerful questions. In 2023 she co-founded Talking Matters for Business, a Winchester-based forum for business leaders seeking insights and new thinking regarding people, leadership and work.
A trained musician, she is a performing and recording member of The Bach Choir.
