Ceremony tickets

Guest tickets

Graduands can request up to two guest tickets in advance if they register to attend the ceremony during the registration process via the RISIS Portal in August 2024.

Guest tickets are free of charge and will be available to collect from the Information and Ticket Desk on the day of the ceremony. Please ensure you bring a form of photographic ID (passport, student card etc.) with you when collecting your guest tickets.

Please note: Graduands do not need their own ticket.

Extra guest tickets

Seating in the Ceremony Marquee is limited by the capacity of the marquee. There may be some guest tickets unallocated or returned, which will be made available on the day from the Information and Ticket Desk up to 90 minutes prior to the relevant ceremony. Subject to availability, a maximum of two additional guest tickets will be allocated to graduands on a first-come, first-served basis, bringing the total possible allocation of guest tickets to four per student - two in advance and two extra tickets on the day (subject to availability).

Livestream Room

Additional guests who do not have tickets for the ceremony marquee can instead watch the ceremony from the Livestream room in the National Grid lecture theatre (number 12 on the Graduation map). Tickets are not required for the Livestream room. Please note that guests aged under 18 cannot be left unsupervised in this room or anywhere else on campus.

Children

Whilst Graduation is a celebratory family event we do not consider it particularly child-friendly, especially the ceremonies themselves as they require guests to remain seated for up to an hour at a time and it is not easy to leave discreetly during a ceremony. This being said children are still welcome to attend. If children do come, those aged 2 and under do not need their own ticket for ceremony marquee as they are expected to sit on an adult’s lap and be carried at all times in the marquee. For fire safety reasons all children aged 3 and over will need their own guest ticket.

Please note: the Greenlands campus is situated on the bank of the River Thames and so children under the age of 18 should not be left unaccompanied at any point whilst on site. Graduands and guests are responsible for the care and safety of the children in their party at all times.

Graduands or guests with disabilities, mobility difficulties or other access needs

Please indicate when you register on the RISIS Portal if you or one of your guests have a disability, mobility difficulties or other access needs that would require any special arrangements on the day. We will attempt to make any appropriate accommodations but cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate such arrangements if we are only alerted to them after the registration deadline at the end of August.

If you are graduating and use a wheelchair or have mobility difficulties we can arrange a ramp for access onto the stage - please let us know by the graduation registration deadline if you would require a ramp.
