Description
Former CIA officer turned CEO Rupal Patel shares the unique skills she developed as a woman and field agent in the high-stakes, high-octane world of the CIA. She combines those clandestine insights with her experiences as a CEO and corporate adviser to offer unconventional insights for leaders and organisations looking to throw off dated ‘best practice’ and stale SOPs.
This session will arm you with game-changing new frameworks such as tactical ignorance and identity-driven leadership that unlock performance, develop mental toughness and build steel-core confidence, and powerful new tools for adapting quickly and moving forward when the ‘mission’ goes wrong. With tangible takeaways and truly unique exercises, this session will show you how to leverage the CIA mindset to remake the rules of success and become unstoppable.
Rupal Patel

Rupal Patel’s high-octane career has taken her from military briefing rooms in jungles and war zones to corporate boardrooms and international stages. During her thrilling career as an analyst and field agent at the CIA, she served in active war zones, advised commanding generals, and earned service medals and meritorious citations for ‘exceptional performance of duty’ and ‘superior support to the President of the United States.’
After leaving the CIA, Rupal earned an MBA degree from London Business School and started her first award-winning business. Named a ‘power woman’ by Harper’s Bazaar magazine, she is a sought-after international speaker who has worked with top-tier organisations like Accenture, AB Inbev, SAP and Virgin. Rupal’s keynotes and multi-day masterclasses are tailored to meet the needs of her audience – a skill honed at the CIA, where she briefed everyone from ground force ‘grunts’ to high-level dignitaries, and expanded through her work with executives and founders across the globe.
Rupal’s book, From CIA to CEO (2022), provides a powerful toolkit for living and leading that reveals how the techniques of the CIA can help anyone thrive in the world of business and unleash personal excellence without conforming to stale stereotypes or dated best practice.
As a sitting CEO, author, consultant, coach and mentor, Rupal works to help visionary leaders, teams and organisations; her approach marries industry-leading theory with tactical experience in a way that transforms the clients she works with. Her client-focused design and delivery is powerful and impactful, and her truly unique insights arm her audiences with the tools they need to remake the rules of success and become unstoppable.
