Description
CEOs consistently put innovation at the top of their 'things to do' lists, but the reality is, most organisations are actually very poor at innovating. Most organisations are genetically engineered to focus on process improvement rather than real innovation and this is embedded in their culture and ways of working. Recent events, such as COVID-19 and the impact of wars in Ukraine and around the world, have highlighted how fragile many organisations are and the urgent need to get much better at constant innovation and evolution.
Based on extensive research that underpins a series of books by Dr Mark Powell and Jonathan Gifford (My Steam Engine is Broken, Machiavellian Intelligence, Perform to Win, and_ The Five Principles of Performance Thinking_), this masterclass will seek to re-imagine and redefine innovation and what organisations and individuals will need to do differently if they are to innovate effectively.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session, you will:
- have a better understanding of the nature of innovation and the key differences between 'process' and 'radical' innovation
- appreciate the key issues, challenges and blockers that prevent organisations from becoming more innovative
- be able to identify the blockers and challenges to innovation in your own organisation

For leaders who have an interest in innovation and creativity and who want to help drive innovation in their own careers and the organisations they work for.
