Dr Olena Khlystova, Lecturer in Management and Organisational Behaviour, joined Professor Yelena Kalyuzhnova, Director of the Centre for Euro-Asian Studies, to deliver the inaugural webinar on 11 November.

Titled 'Organisational Resilience of Creative Industries: Evidence from the Euro-Asian Region', the talk brought together insights from several years of collaborative research conducted through the CEAS, drawing on projects in Kazakhstan, Turkey and the United Kingdom to explore how creative industries respond to major disruptions. They concluded by sharing policy recommendations developed for international bodies such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, including the need to better integrate creative industries into national and regional development plans, strengthen digital and innovation ecosystems and ensure more inclusive, evidence-based policymaking across the Euro-Asian region.

The Forum for Uzbek and Silk Road Studies launched in 2021, with their webinar series featuring distinguished academics from the UK, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Sweden and Kyrgyzstan as speakers to discuss developing policy. In addition, they hold conferences, develop joint research activities and public lectures to build strong research links across the region, nurture early career researchers and stimulate intellectual interest in the Central Asian region.

Dr Khlystova commented: "The seminar reinforced the Centre for Euro-Asian Studies' role as a key contributor to research and policy debate on the future of creative industries along the Silk Road, showcasing the impact of our long-term partnerships in the region."
