Dr Chris Golding is a Lecturer in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Henley Business School, University of Reading. His research examines how experienced and expressed emotion shape strategic decision-making, and how organizations can adapt and change.
Chris’ research focuses on how experienced and expressed emotion affect strategic decision-making, contributing towards or preventing innovation and strategic renewal in organizations. He has a particular interest in the paradoxical effects of emotion (i.e., under what conditions 'negative' emotions can be beneficial, and when 'positive' emotions may be harmful). His work has been published in Long Range Planning and presented at conferences including the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, Strategic Management Society, and EGOS amongst others. Prior to joining Henley Business School, Chris was a Lecturer in Innovation and Strategy at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester (2021-25). Chris received his PhD in Management from Durham University Business School in 2021, where he was an ESRC-sponsored student.
