Dr Xing Huang has published numerous articles in highly regarded finance journals and co-investigated European Commission funded research projects. Her research has been featured by major media outlets such as Forbes, Sky News, and The Guardian.

Xing works as a Lecturer in Accounting at Henley Business School. She holds a PhD in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Reading and an MSc in Economics from the University of Surrey. Before returning to Henley, she lectured at the University of Portsmouth, where she also served as the faculty representative for early career researchers.

Her main research interests include small business finance, social (in)equality, accounting quality, and empirical banking. She has published research articles in internationally leading finance journals such as International Review of Financial Analysis, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions & Money, and The European Journal of Finance. Her research received UK government responses and significant media coverage.

She has also secured multi-million-euro research grants that aim to address structural inequalities in society, with an emphasis on gender. For example, she co-investigated the European Commission Horizon 2022 project “Realising Girls' and Women's Inclusion, Representation and Empowerment (RE-WIRING)”, and the "Accelerating Women's Enterprise" project, co-funded by the Interreg France (Channel) England Programme and European Regional Development Funds.

Currently, she teaches two undergraduate modules: AC317 Accounting Project and AC201 Management Accounting. Since 2015, she has taught twelve accounting and finance modules at the University of Portsmouth and the University of Reading.
