  • Leadership and Artificial Intelligence Integration in Management Consultancy: Driving Productivity in UK Professional Services

Elan Kandaswamy is a Henley Business School PhD student in the department of Leadership, Organisations, Behaviour and Reputation.

His research interests centre on leadership and artificial intelligence integration in professional services, examining how leadership practices shape AI adoption and drive productivity in UK management consultancy firms. Elan's research engagement includes leading multi-university empirical studies on AI in UK higher education, securing externally funded, civic-facing research grants, including with the Learned Society of Wales, and presenting at international academic conferences, alongside a growing publication pipeline on leadership, AI integration in industries, forced migrant entrepreneurship and environmental justice.

Before moving into full-time academia, Elan gained more than two decades of international business-development and strategy-consultancy experience across the Middle East, the Caspian region, North Africa and Europe, having held senior roles in the oil and gas sector and his own international consultancy practice. He is also a Lecturer in Business at Wrexham Business School, Wrexham University, where he teaches corporate strategy, international business management, strategic marketing, leadership and entrepreneurship.
