Empowering Female Entrepreneurs
The Centre for Euro-Asian Studies collaborated with the University of Oil and Gas (Atyrau, Kazakhstan) to research factors affecting female entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan, covering the period from September 2024 to March 2025.
Based on creating the foundation of evidence-based policymaking, this project includes producing written evidence for the UK Parliament that was presented in response to the call on 'Female Entrepreneurship' by the Women and Equalities Committee. This has been included in their 8th Report (pp. 48 and 67).
This project was funded by both a University of Reading institutional grant of £10,500 and a Research England sponsorship through their Global Challenges Research Fund, Interational Science Partnership Fund and Official Development Assistance. The long-term aim of the project is to produce an academic publication based on a survey of entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan.
