Professor Sealy researches behavioural corporate governance, including boardroom dynamics and strategic inclusivity, women on boards and leadership. Her journal publications include Corporate Governance: International Review, Business Ethics Quarterly, the British Journal of Management, the Human Resource Management Journal, Gender Work and Organization, the International Journal of Management Reviews and Accounting in Europe. She has written more than 20 public reports for government, regulatory and professional bodies.

Having held several research and leadership roles, including with City University London, Professor Sealy is currently a Visiting Professor at Cranfield School of Management and an Honorary Professor of Responsible Leadership at the University of Exeter Business School. Prior to academia, Ruth was an entrepreneur for 10 years before selling her company, retraining as an organisational psychologist and becoming a behavioural corporate governance consultant.

Professor Sealy is an Associate Editor for Corporate Governance: International Review and a board member of the International Corporate Governance Society. She is a Fellow of the British Academy of Management and an Academic Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

The topic of this presentation is 'A Cool Data Set in Search of a Theory!' and it will focus discussion on a range of Professor Sealy's research projects following her appointment as a Henley Business School member of faculty earlier this year. The broad scope of topics featured in this seminar will include the consideration of differential outcomes by ethnicity on solicitors' qualifications through to behavioural board dynamics and responsible leadership. Professor Sealy will speak about some of the challenges of multi-level perspectives and publishing from issue-driven rather than theory-driven data sets.

The seminar is for an internal audience and will be held on 27 February 2025, 1:00pm, in room LG01 of the Henley Business School building, Whiteknights campus. For those unable to attend in person there is also the option to dial in remotely via Microsoft Teams. If you are interested in joining, please contact Alex Baker on a.j.baker@henley.ac.uk

Members of LOBR faculty may also request to book a one to one meeting with Professor Sealy. Each appointment will last 30 minutes, between 2:15pm to 3:45pm. Slots are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. To arrange an appointment, please contact Alex Baker on a.j.baker@henley.ac.uk

LOBR research seminars are co-ordinated by Professor Bernd Vogel and Dr Anastasiya Saraeva.
