Abstract:

This paper looks at the geopolitical importance of China and examines how the influx of Western ideologies creates instability and serves as a backdrop for British multinational enterprises’ operational environment since the mid-19th century. The paper introduces the interplay between globalization and Chinese revolutionary culture in the context of a declining, isolating and then rising China. Building on the traditional conception of popular political culture that defies and replaces existing governance, Chinese revolutionary culture will be examined in terms of a sub-culture that condones key stakeholders’ judgemental decisions towards major change that challenge the existing political order.
