Description
The contemporary organisational landscape is characterised by perpetual flux and volatility. The notion of returning to a predictable ‘normal’ has been replaced by the reality of a ‘new abnormal’, often under significant time pressure. In this environment, resilience – the capacity to bounce back from adversity – and agility – the ability to anticipate, adapt and pivot swiftly in response to change – have become essential capabilities.
We will explore how leadership behaviours can systemically cultivate (or inadvertently undermine) a culture that thrives under pressure, embraces change as a catalyst for innovation and learns proactively from both successes and setbacks.
The session will unpack the cognitive, emotional and behavioural underpinnings of adaptive leadership, emphasising how to foster an environment where teams can make high-quality decisions and maintain peak performance even when time is a critical constraint.
Through evidence-based models (e.g. frameworks such as SPARK Resilience©, focusing on stress, perception, affectivity, reaction and knowledge), case studies and immersive practical exercises, this session will enable you to develop personal coping strategies, amplify your team’s resilience capabilities and champion a more agile organisational ecosystem capable of navigating today’s complex challenges with confidence and strategic foresight.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this session, you will be able to:
- critically evaluate individual and team resilience and agility
- develop enhanced self-awareness of personal stress triggers and understand the cognitive-emotional mechanisms underpinning resilient leadership
- apply a toolkit of evidence-based strategies to cultivate personal and team resilience, and champion a resilient organisational culture that thrives amid change
Who is this for?
Senior leaders responsible for strategic decision-making, leading teams through significant change, shaping organisational culture and fostering a resilient workforce.
Individuals in influential leadership roles who are committed to understanding and integrating the diverse perceptions and reactions within their teams to build more adaptive, robust and high-performing units in a volatile environment.
