Survey on understanding the architecture and technology leadership contribution to digital transformations

To identify evidence for the impact of enterprise architecture on digital transformations, Henley Business School and McKinsey & Company have formed a research collaboration that is creating a dataset from companies across all industries.

Digital transformations are disrupting industries and business models all around the globe. In designing today’s digital operating models, the leadership of Enterprise Architecture and architecture teams should be visibly important. Yet there is limited evidence that Enterprise Architecture is truly a differentiator enabling the business to have a positive impact on the value of a company.

To identify evidence for the impact of enterprise architecture on digital transformations, Henley Business School and McKinsey & Company have formed a research collaboration that is creating a dataset from companies across all industries.

We have targeted the survey to senior IT executives and EA professionals on a global basis. The survey is the basis to explore research questions around good EA practice:

  • What are the key success factors in setting up and managing an enterprise architecture function to support a digital transformation
  • What are good ways to measure the impact of enterprise architecture?
  • What important trends are driving technology leadership?
  • How are companies sizing and organizing enterprise architecture groups?

The results will create a fact-base for a statistical analysis on the importance and effectiveness of Enterprise Architecture.
