Description

Fatima Whitbread, MBE, is a world javelin champion, world record holder and twice Olympic medallist. She was honoured with the Helen Rollason Award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2023, which recognises outstanding achievement in the face of adversity.
During this interview with Fatima, we will hear about the trials and tribulations she underwent as a young athlete, dealing with the most challenging of circumstances as she aimed for the top of her sport. Fatima overcame those childhood challenges, unlocking her self-worth, confidence and self-respect.
She has appeared in many top TV shows, including Come Dine with Me, Eternal Glory, Pilgrimage: The Road to Istanbul, and being the last woman standing in I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. In Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, Fatima broke three ribs while jumping out of a helicopter; she hid her suffering so she wouldn’t be pulled from the show.
Fatima has recently launched a campaign called Fatima’s UK Campaign, aimed at helping children in care and care leavers to fulfil their positive potential in the same way that she did.
