Overview

In a fast-moving world, even the best strategy can fail without the ability to adapt and act. Today’s leaders need more than a plan; they need the clarity to see what matters, the creativity to find new paths, and the confidence to turn decisions into results.

The Henley Leading Strategy and Execution Programme gives you the clarity, creativity and confidence to design and deliver strategy that drives real impact. It bridges the gap between vision and action.

Over three immersive days, you’ll step back from day-to-day pressures to explore what it takes to design and deliver strategy for sustainable performance. You’ll examine proven frameworks and innovative approaches that connect analysis with execution, aligning strategy with customer needs, performance goals and organisational ambition.

Through practical exercises, collaboration and expert facilitation, you’ll build the mindset and skills to turn strategic thinking into real-world results.

You’ll leave with:

  • A renewed strategic perspective – clarity on direction and your role in shaping it.
  • Confidence in execution – the ability to turn insight into meaningful action.
  • Practical tools and frameworks – adaptable models for planning and performance.
  • Fresh inspiration – from peers across industries and world-class Henley faculty.

At Henley, academic insight meets real-world application. Our faculty combine global research with boardroom experience to create an immersive, collaborative learning experience that helps you put strategy into action from day one.

Key benefits

  • Strengthen your strategic thinking, explore proven models and creative frameworks that challenge conventional approaches

  • Gain clarity and confidence to make sound strategic choices and set a clear direction

  • Apply creative problem-solving tools to find new routes to growth

  • Align your strategy with customer needs and performance metrics to drive measurable results

  • Build momentum for execution by translating ideas into practical actions

  • Broaden your perspective by learning alongside leaders from a wide range of sectors and discover how different industries approach and overcome their most pressing strategic challenges.

This programme is for executives and senior managers who play a key role in shaping or delivering strategy within their organisation.

You might lead a function, business unit or division, or be responsible for translating strategy into results.

Typical participants include:

  • Business leaders responsible for strategic direction
  • Functional or departmental heads engaged in corporate strategy
  • Senior managers seeking to strengthen strategic decision-making and execution.

At Henley Business School, we believe great strategy happens where creative thinking meets disciplined execution. Our approach blends academic rigour with practical insight, helping leaders move beyond static plans to a living, continuous process of learning, alignment, and action.

What truly sets Henley apart is the calibre of our faculty and the richness of our learning experience. You’ll be guided by world-class experts whose research in strategy, innovation, and leadership shapes thinking in boardrooms worldwide, and whose real-world corporate experience ensures every idea is grounded in practice, not theory.

Strategy is learned best through doing. Throughout the programme, you’ll participate in dynamic, interactive sessions that bring strategic thinking to life, combining real-world case studies, applied frameworks, and collaborative problem-solving.

Learning through case studies helps you test theory against reality, seeing how different organisations across industries and markets have navigated uncertainty, innovation, and change. You’ll explore not just what they did, but why their choices worked, and how those insights can be adapted to your own context.

At Henley, learning is immersive and practical. You’ll move between analysis and action, working on your own strategic challenges while applying new tools and frameworks in real time. This hands-on approach helps you build confidence in your decisions, strengthen your strategic judgement, and see tangible ways to execute your ideas effectively.

Through the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work through live business challenges, exploring new ideas and alternative routes to growth.
  • Apply strategy tools within your own context, linking learning to measurable impact.
  • Share insight and feedback with peers and expert faculty from across sectors.
  • Access continued support after the programme, helping you refine and embed your strategic plans.

The Henley Leading Strategy and Execution Programme is workshop-style and how-to-focused. Over three days at Henley, you will gain the tools and capabilities to develop and implement your organisational strategy. A follow-up online event then enables you to check progress and maintain momentum.
