We’re pleased to announce the launch of the Henley Careers Blog. The blog is a way for the Careers team to share thoughts about various careers practices, and respond to related business and recruitment news.
Autumn Term – Open Workshops and Employer Panels
As part of our commitment to offer experiences that appeal to all learning styles, throughout the Autumn Term we’ll be delivering 4 lunchtime workshops per week. These workshops will cover all aspects of Careers – for example understanding careers in differing sectors and industries, learning ways to succeed in applications and selection, and developing an understanding of your strengths.
We are also arranging many events with employers – a cornerstone of this approach will be the Monday Night Employer Panel. At these events, a number of themed employers will come together to discuss careers options and realities in both an Q&A session, and informal networking.
These optional activities will sit alongside our current offerings of 1-2-1 appointments, course specific workshops, and embedded careers modules.

The Henley Careers Launch Event – March 2015
To mark the launch of the new Team, Henley Careers welcomed MBA students to an informative and entertaining talk by Bill Payne, who is a Venture Capitalist, Non-Executive Director, Business School Lecturer and former senior manager at IBM.
The event was co-organised by the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, and following the talk attendees networked over canapés – an excellent opportunity to learn from a successful business manager, and then practice those all-important networking skills.

"EY have found the students from Henley Business School to be very strong candidates for potential graduate positions. We have met with a large number of students from different backgrounds and degrees and have been impressed with students from Henley, especially with their energy, enthusiasm and willingness to learn about EY and what we do. We have also recruited a high number of our EY student brand managers from Henley Business School who have done a fantastic work, promoting EY on Campus. So far, it has been a great experience to meet with the students from Henley business school and we are looking forward to recruiting more Henley graduates in the near future."

"Without exception, Henley Business School students have consistently performed above and beyond what we would expect of a placement student. Every year we look forward to returning to the campus to recruit some of the best talent in the country! "
"I received invaluable coaching from Henley Careers in preparation for applying for placements, throughout my year in industry as well as future guidance regarding graduate careers."
Emily Aubrey, BA Business and Management
"The best aspects of careers support we have been given have aimed to get us into the mindset of the real estate graduate recruiters, making us aware of the importance of commercial knowledge, being able to network effectively, and understanding the nature of business that the firms we apply to conduct."
Anonymous, MSc Real Estate
"The support I received from Henley Careers enabled me to take full advantage of my MBA. With their help I developed crucial insight into my own beliefs and behaviours which has allowed me to manage my career with confidence."

"The Henley MBA Programme has helped me to relocate and get introduced to another business environment in the UK. I greatly benefitted from the diversity of the programme which (now a year later) I am using in dealing with global companies and the structure of my internal team. I want to mention the Henley Careers team for their support and dedication to MBAs and their careers – it was of utmost important to me to have them on my side when making decisions."
Iskren Kulev, Strategic Partnerships, iZettle London, Full-time MBA
"My Henley career consultant had in-depth and well developed coaching skills. This combined with their practical knowledge of the MBA recruitment industry helped me align myself with the attributes that the employers were seeking."
Esam Bakhsh, Project Consultant to pharmaceutical industry, Executive MBA
"The Thames Valley Cchamber of Commerce respects its relationship with Henley Careers as this working partnership provides an important link between students and businesses. Together we provide students with a greater understanding of business, the workplace and future employment opportunities, which will ultimately help enrich Thames Valley’s future workforce."
Atif Baig, Account Manager, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group
"I found the Henley Careers team to be very supportive, whilst applying for and throughout my internship. Their guidance and assistance really smoothed the process and helped me not only achieve the placement I wanted, but allowed me to construct a detailed career path for the near
future. Communication has been excellent and they’ve taken a real interest in how I’ve progressed."
Joe Walmsley, Business Intern; Opportunity & Lead Management, Digital Factory & Process Industries and Drives at Siemens, BA Business and Management
"I would like to thank you for your guidance. Although I did not get the offer, your good advice gave me insight into the selection process, from which I have benefited later. Recently, I applied to the PwC graduate program, and luckily got an offer. Even at the beginning of this year, I thought that it was mission impossible, since I am an international student, Visa sponsorship requirement and language barrier take away most of job opportunities. Thank you very much for everything, I could not have made it without support from Henley Careers."
Peng Li, MSc Accounting and Financial Management
The one to one support is fantastic and has made applying for jobs a smooth process. Knowing that there is always someone that you can go and talk to about the industry is a comfort. Furthermore, the insight to the companies makes it easier to distinguish where you feel you might be best suited. RREF evening lectures have been incredibly insightful, and very helpful throughout the interview process. Having the Kings Cross Development lecture from Savills has helped me in every single interview that I have attended.
